Petit à petit, l’oiseau fait son nid
Little by little, the bird makes its nest
In France there is a proverb – a short pithy saying in frequent and widespread use that expresses a basic truth and/or practical precept about perseverance. It can be applied to every goal that we pursue. It means that if we want something we should do it no matter how long or slow, we just have to be stubborn to continue because every effort counts. The final result, reaching of our goal would prove that all that perseverance were meaningful.
What I would add to this proverb is that by doing it we must not only concentrate on the final goal, we should have fun doing it. Therefore, if you want to run the marathon, enjoy every run that you make while you prepare yourself for the big race. It should always be fun, even if it hurts….
